The district holds a JOTA camp every 2 years where we come together to celebrate Scouting across the world, learn about other countries, make contact with groups through Jamboree on the Internet. It is also an opportunity to deliver parts of the the World Challenge Badge for all sections
Groups will make their own bookings at Barnswood and cubs, scouts and explorers will camp from Friday evening to Sunday afternoon. Squirrels and beavers will join for the day on Saturday. Each group will select a different country and will run a base where everyone can learn about the selected country, experience some of the culture and perhaps sample some of the cuisine. Larger groups who have more that 20 young people on camp will be asked to select 2 countries and run 2 bases. There will also be a couple of bases run by the district team plus an internet station where contact can be made with groups worldwide.
