Our Journey to 2030 : Vision and Principles

Our Vision for Scouting in Macclesfield and Congleton District in 2030

We are THE Choice for Fun, Safe Adventures and Experiences that give Skills For Life to all Young People and Adults

Underpinning our vision are our strategic principles, which guide us in our decision making across the District.

Our Strategic Principles are:

We create adventures and experiences that build skills for life.

We enrich the lives of even more young people and adults by developing the practical and personal skills they need to succeed in a constantly evolving world.

We make young people the focal point of what we do.

We support and empower our volunteers to enable our youth members to shape their own scouting experience.

We make volunteering with us fun and rewarding.

We recognise and value the contribution of all our individual volunteers.  We train, support and motivate our volunteers.

We give inclusive opportunities.

We provide a safe, fun and inclusive environment that creates opportunity, adventure and experiences for everyone to join in with and be a part of.

We play a key role in today’s society.

We are recognised and respected as an active and integral part of our local communities.   We only partner with other organisations that have values aligned with our own.

We lay solid foundations for the future.

We are trusted guardians of our resources. They are cared for and used in a way that benefits future generations as well as our own.

We act today with tomorrow in mind.

We consider the sustainability of our organisation, our resources, and our planet in all we do.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
