Shelter building

For time immemorial, children have enjoyed making dens.

There is plenty of natural material and several areas where these can be built and with appropriate tuition made into passable shelters.

The campsites nearest to suitable areas are;

North & South Rudyard

Ryecroft

Merebrook

Cub Site

Birch Tree Wood

Woodlands

Hammocking

Sleeping in a hammock is both comfortable and adventurous. If slung properly they do not damage the trees and are welcomed by the Barnswood Team.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
