This team is responsible for enabling the District to offer exciting and challenging experiences and adventures to young people.
They provide support and guidance to volunteers wanting to deliver residential experiences, adventurous activities, international experiences that enable young people to achieve our Top Awards.
The team also includes our Scout Active Support units that provide resources and guidance to district events and also requests from groups.
Programme Support Team Members
Steve heads up our Programme Support Team.
He is also responsible for reviewing adventurous activity risk assessments and recommending them for approval
Tom provides support for adventurous activities. If you have a question about an adventurous activity and can’t find the answer on our website, get in touch!
As well as reviewing nights away risk assessments and recommending them for approval, Ian also leads our team of Nights Away Advisers in the District. The team provide training opportunities for our volunteers to learn the key skills needed to deliver safe residential experiences, be they indoor, campsite, or “green field”; and recommend permit approvals.
We aim to offer Bronze, Silver and Gold Duke of Edinburgh programmes across the District.
Our DofE Co-ordinator assists with co-ordinating the programme and supporting administration for the scheme.
The Scout Active Support Team (SAS) are a crack team of adult volunteers who are poised to respond to calls for help.
If you have an activity or event that needs extra hands, or need help delivering a skill that you don’t have, then call in the SAS to see if there is someone on the team that can help!
The Scout Active Support Communications Team (SASC) are provide radio communications support for our large events and also help with delivering activity badges or communications based activities to young people. They also support community events through the loan of equipment and even the volunteers to use it!
The SASC team is also a proud partner of CEVAC – Cheshire East’s emergency incident response network.
Our top awards lead heads up our Top Awards provision in the District. Ranging from our Squirrels Acorn Award, through to the highest award in Scouting – the King’s Scout Award – we can provide advice on how to access these, and plays an active role in promoting the awards across the District.
Alex leads our strategy for international experiences, aiming to bring more international flavour to our programmes and increasing the number of opportunities for international visits for our membership.
An explorer, adventurer and TV presenter, Dwayne's been seen in BAFTA nominated Channel 5 series Race to the Pole, on BBC Springwatch, Countryfile, National Geographic and Disney+.
