Skills for Life

Macclesfield and Congleton Scout District is one of the largest in Cheshire providing adventurous activities and skills for life to over 1,200 young people between the ages of 4 and 18. The District stretches from Congleton to Poynton and there is a choice of 20 Scout Groups and 4 Explorer Units to join

Welcome to Macclesfield & Congleton Scout District

As a district, we are on the edge of the Peak District giving us access to fabulous hill walking, as well as opportunities for climbing and caving, water sports and off-road biking to keep the adrenalin going.

We have a district Headquarters in Macclesfield which has fully equipped training and meeting rooms as well as a shop selling uniforms, badges, and other scouting items.

We are also fortunate to have our Barnswood District Campsite near Rushton Spencer which covers 63 acres of woodland with 19 campsites of various sizes, 3 buildings and a range of facilities that can be used by campers and day visitors alike

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
