44177, Private, William Naden, 1st Battalion Worcestershire Regiment, formerly 243548 Cheshire Regiment. Born in 1894 at Macclesfield, son of Thomas and Hannah (nee Lancaster) Naden of 11, Court, 2 Houses, King Edward Street, Macclesfield. William was educated at St Peters and Byron Street Council School.
William enlisted atthe end of 1916 at Macclesfield, and oncompletion of his training was drafted with the British Expeditiionary Force to the Somme region of France, he had only been in France 5 weeks when he was killd in action, Sunday 21 April 1918 aged 24 years.
Medals: British War Medal and Victory Medal.
Private, William Naden is buried in Adelaide Cemetery, Villers-Bretonneau, Somme.
