Beavers Christmas Party 2023

Date: 11th Dec 2023 Author: Ian Mackintosh
A hundred excited beavers from eleven colonies gathered for the District Beaver Christmas party.
They enthusiastically joined in crafts and activities including: dotty art, plasticine modelling, bracelet making, decorating crowns, wooden Christmas tree construction, lego, nerf guns, pin the nose on Rudolf, etching sketches and wobbly clowns.
They then welcomed Dazzle the Clown who entertained them for an hour with magic, dancing, competitions, good humour and loads of silly fun.
Surprisingly they settled down to eat their teas of sandwiches, sausage rolls, carrot sticks, grapes and biscuits.
Even more surprisingly, Wolf took a phone call from Santa who couldn’t find us as he could hear us! They all chanted ‘Santa, Santa, Santa’ and there he was amongst us with two huge sacks of presents.
The party finished with songs around the camp fire.
When adults arrived to collect their beavers there was even more excitement as it was snowing!
The party was a great success thanks to the behaviour of the beavers and the host of leaders and parents who put it together, helped all afternoon and tidied away in next to no time.
Thanks to everyone involved.
