BENJAMIN HUDSON

49050, Private, Benjamin Hudson, 7th Battalion, Norfolk Regiment, formerly, 95966 King’s Liverpool Regiment.

Born in 1899 at Macclesfield, son of Frederick William and Harriet Jane, (nee, Fletcher), Hudson, of, 121, Hurdsfield Church Boy Scouts Troop (4th Macclesfield). Prior to his enlistment, he was in the employ of the North Staffordshire Railway Company.

Benjamin enlisted 26 July 1917 Macclesfield, and was placed with the King’s Liverpool Regiment, after he completed his standard training he was drafted with the British Expeditionary Force to France. Here he was transferred to the Norfolk Regiment. Benjamin died of wounds received Wednesday 26 June 1918, he was only 19 years old

Medals: British War Medal and Victory Medal.

Private, Benjamin Hudson, is buried at St Sever Cemetery Extension, Rouen, Seine-Maritime, France.
