News about Barnswood

We are coming to the end of our high season, so have reviewed usage.
Barnswood has had campers on site for 146 nights out of the 175 since
the start of May. More details in next month's newsletter.

Late September, we hosted members from Staffordshire Fungus Group
who, in 2 hours, found 25 different fungi. We are looking to produce
something for next year that will help those less expert to find and
identify fungi on site.

Entrust has now finished using Barnswood for this year and so the
parachutes, archery and axe targets are no longer available. The toilets
and showers will be removed soon.

Barnswood will be totally closed from 22nd December until 3rd of
January, with toilet blocks 2 & 3 and sites at the South end closed from
early November to late March. Toilet blocks 1 & 4 will remain open
along with the buildings and Northern sites (except for the Christmas
break).

Please note that 2024 fees are now published so you can get your
camping budgets sorted for next year. Bookings are open for 2024 and
our booking secretary is already getting very busy.

A reminder that Barnswood is only available on the weekend of 20th-
22nd October 2023 to M&C groups attending JOTA.
