News about Barnswood

Again Barnswood has demonstrated its resilience to the vagaries of the
weather. Days of incessant heavy rain made it soggy but not unusable
and the few days of sunshine has brought it back to excellent condition.
The sites continue to look welcoming with the regular cutting and
strimming and many users have commented on the “stripes”.

Throughout June the site has been used everyday with our new hirers,
HMP Dog training, thoroughly enjoying the open and not so open spaces
and leaving no trace of their presence. July and August see Entrust
back Monday to Friday, so again Barnswood will be used every day.

Following recent reviews, Barnswood has developed a formal Tree
Management Policy and a formal Septic Tank management policy.

Please use the feedback form after your camp. The recent ones
praising the warden on duty have been shared with the relevant warden
and have given them a boost. They are also a way to report any issues
that you forgot to mention to the warden or report via the QR codes on
the notice boards.

There have recently been a number of facebook posts showing groups
doing activities at Barnswood and mentioning that they are at
Barnswood. This is welcome publicity. Please mention Barnswood in
your posts.
