News about Barnswood

Now is the time to look forward to an active summer of camping.
The first cutting of our open areas is due next week so we have been out
clearing them of debris ready for the contractor. This included removing
several tracking signs from Plateau, seating logs left on a number of
sites, as well as collections of wood ready for fires. Please help us going
forward by checking your camp and activity areas and clearing the whole
of the open area of any wood and all pegs, so the contractor can just
mow.

Barnswood is looking to provide additional activities on site this summer
so keep a lookout on the website under “on-site activities” to see what is
coming and how to book them. We are currently preparing additional
facilities for lightweight campers and a set of cooking pots & pans as an
optional add-on with building hire for those groups that don’t have their
own. Details of both will go on the website when ready (don’t wait for
May’s newsletter).

Part of the Barnswood package is its team of friendly helpful wardens.
We will shortly be doing a survey to identify what will encourage others
to join this team. Please respond.
