District Beaver Sleepover

Date: 22nd May 2023 Author: Ian Mackintosh

On the weekend of 19th – 21st May 42 beavers from 6 colonies enjoyed a Woodland Wonder Sleepover in the lovely surroundings of Barnswood Camp site. They learned about animals’ habitats and food, made woodpecker feeders and planted wild flowers to enhance Beaver base. After enjoying a Teddy Bears picnic they crawled, jumped and rolled around Beaver Base and found the fairy tree at the centre of the maze.
They explored Barnswood in the daytime by completing a quiz trail to find the treasure, and in the dark by following discs that glowed in torch light.
At quieter times they made new friends whilst doing craft and challenges. They even found time to sleep.
Well done Beavers and a great volunteer leader team.
