29486, Private, William Edward Kinder Chesworth, 6th Battalion, South Wales Borderers.
Born 25 April 1898 at Oldham, son of William and Jane Elizabeth, (nee, Kinder), Chesworth, who were living at 15, Pitt Street, Stockport in 1901, however, by 1911, they had moved to 37, West Bond Street, Macclesfield.
William was also an active Boy Scout and Assistant Scout Master with the 3rd Macclesfield Troop.
William was employed by Mr J. B. Walker, Mill Street as an improver.
William enlisted in the January 1917 at Macclesfield, and after training was drafted, 23 April 1917, to the Western
Front, where three months later he received severe wounds from which he died, Thursday, 5 July 1917, aged 19 years.
Medals: British War Medal and Victory Medal.
Private, William Edward Chesworth is buried at Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery, West Vlaanderen, Belgium.
