St Georges Day Picnic

Date: 2nd May 2023 Author: Ian Mackintosh

This year Macclesfield and Congleton Scouts held their Promise Renewal as part of a St Georges Day Picnic and activities at Victoria Park in Macclesfield. Our District Lead Volunteer, Mike Brown led the renewal and handed out awards to leaders mas well as introducing the first Squirrel Dray in the District from Dane Valley.

The Cubs, Beavers and Squirrels took part in Maccopoly around the park and the Scouts and Explorers version of Maccopoly was around the town.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
