History and Museum
The Barnswood Scout Camp was gifted to the young people of Macclesfield and Congleton in 1963 by Mr and Mrs Wadsworth and the official opening was on 21st May 1964. More of the early history of Barnswood can be found in Norman Goslings book on the History of Macclesfield and Congleton Scouts “Big Hats, Shorts and Dyb, Dyb, Dyb”,
You can learn more about the history of the Barnswood site as well as scouting in Macclesfield and Congleton by visiting the Museum on the site. This can be arranged either when you book or when you are on site.
