May 2023

Barnswood has now moved to High Season Mode with water throughout the site. All sites have had their first cut (a contractor will do a monthly mowing).

The tree felling around campsites is complete.

An open day was held at the end of April to showcase developments and seek views and volunteers. After exploring the site, visitors were invited to enjoy backwoods cooking (and eating the outcome).

Barnswood is open to Macclesfield and Congleton Groups for day and evening visits during the week or at week-ends, book via barnswoodbookings@gmail.com . Your section lead volunteer has details

The Barnswood management committee is starting to plan the developments to be implemented in the 23-24 Low Season. Your section lead has details and you can influence the directions through your section meetings.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
