The annual Explorer working camp happened last weekend. As usual, the young people and their leaders, directed by the Barnswood team, achieved an amazing amount including;
● Cleaning exterior walls and roofs of buildings
● Clearing out more of the old Low Ropes course
● Sanding and treating benches
● Tidying the compound including sorting out old chairs
● Clearing logs and brash from around campsites
● Prepping last years logs
● Clearing up leaves
● Pitching a permanent shelter by the main car park for rainy pick-ups & drop offs.
● Having fun

We also had a guest appearance of an ex-Explorer, Lawrence, who is working in forestry and he used his skills in felling some trees and making benches out of an oak trunk.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
